The Board of Selectmen, with the recommendation from the Town Clerk, appoints members of the Board of Registrars to a three-year term. The Board is made up of four members: two each from the two major political parties. The Board meets periodically to register voters and to certify voters' signatures on initiative petitions and nomination papers. They are also responsible for conducting the annual census, which is necessary to keep a current list of voters and residents. The annual street listing is used for the selection of jurors.
